I just started the white pills on my birth control set and my period is due any day now. I was wondering whether or not I could get pregnant in these few days where my body isn't recieving the birth control hormones. I used to think I couldn't because birth control keeps an egg from being released but I'm still worried that I'm not understand how it really works. Is it possible to get pregnant at the end of your birth control cycle?
The pills contain hormones that affect the natural balance of your hormone levels to keep you from ovulating. It would be unusual to ovulate during your period, which is why the birth control pills have been found to be effective most of the time for most women. But nothing in this life is 100% guaranteed to prevent conception except abstaining from intercourse.
