2 questions-Can a dog control or even be able to let you know if it needs to vomit so it can go outside?

Also, is a dog expected to hold their pee/poo if accidently left inside all day?2 questions-Can a dog control or even be able to let you know if it needs to vomit so it can go outside?
No. They cannot control vomit. Some will make a move towards the door, but usually it is too late by the time you figure it out.

And many dogs, when left ALL DAY, will have an accident!!!2 questions-Can a dog control or even be able to let you know if it needs to vomit so it can go outside?
well if they are potty train tell try untill u get home thats what my dog does he will usually make a face
I don't know if you'd be able to get the dog to go outside when he's about to vomit. Usually, they start gagging, and they really don't move around after that. What I have done in the past is grab a newspaper, magazine, paper towel, etc....whatever is handy when I saw my dog gagging. I shoved it underneath him...no mess on the carpet!

No, you can't expect a dog to hold their bodily functions in all day. That's absurd. People don't hold it in all day. I sometimes go 8 hours with out a break (b/c I'm in a classroom.) I would never expect a dog to hold it longer than 8 hours...and even 8 is too long for some, especially puppies.
Can you control when you are going to vomit? Most people don't even know it until 2 seconds before it happens, and it is the same for dogs.

If you are accidentally left somewhere where there is no toilet, are you expected to hold your pee/poo all day? Dogs who are potty trained will hold it as long as possible until their owners get home, but when you gotta go, you gotta go, there's no stopping it.
You can't make them CONTROL their vomit, but you can train them to go to a certain place to do it.

My Grandma had a Shar Pei that would frequently vomit, and she trained her to go to the tile instead of the carpet to do it!

Mine actually gives me a sign so I can rush her the tile or outside. She does this..';smile'; thing..she actually smiles..it's hilarious, but a good sign because I know when she's about to do it!

No, you cannot expect a dog to hold it's urinate or stool if ';accidently'; left inside for extended hours.
First question I'm pretty sure is a no. I think I've got mine trained to get off the carpet, but I think they get so scared at what they are feeling that they wouldn't think anyway. Does your dog do a little gagging before he/she throws up? I usually get a warning noise and can move him outside.

The second question depends on how long the dog is alone and if they have access to food or water. They should be ok for 8 hours as long as they go out before you leave them but it shouldn't be a habit. Mine goes to bed with me at 10ish and doesn't get up until my boyfriend does at noon, so...he's learned to hold it but he also doesn't have food or water in the bedroom. If its a puppy I wouldn't expect that. Leave them in a kennel (they shouldn't go in there as long as its small enough) when you leave and then start gradually letting them run on short trips to the store or something, you'll start to trust them and can then let them go all day.
There are usually signs that a dog is going to throw up--usually there are a few dry heaves first, before anything comes up. If you see this, either get them outside ASAP, or throw some paper towels down where they seem to be ';aiming.'; (Makes clean-up much easier.) But if your dog is vomiting on a regular basis you may want to get that checked out. That's not normal.

My dog is actually an inside-only dog--he's box-trained. But he prefers to go outside, so most days he'll hold it until I get home from work. (I'm gone from 8:30-5:30.) But I wouldn't expect a puppy to be able to hold it all day long...even an older dodg would probably have to work up to holding it all day.
I agree with Mrs. Mad Maddy

You can't hold on your vomit. When you need to vomit, you need to vomit. Dogs don't know how to run to the nearest bathroom and vomit in the toilet. They go where ever they are, and they can't control it. Neither can you.

You also can't expect a dog to hold their pee and poop all day. It's your responsibility to let the dog out, and it's your fault if the dog goes inside. Could you possibly hold your pee and poop all day? I doubt it.
Well, the dog will usually gag once or twice befor they vomit.

2) you can't honestly expect dogs to hold it in for too long of a time. If they are young, they have an even harder time.
Can you control your vomit when you are sick? That is ridiculous!

Can you hold your pee/poo for 12 hours? A dogs bladder is much smaller than yours.
Dogs we have had have gone to the door when they were going to be sick, just like they wanted to go out for a pee....but if you didn't get there in time well it usually ended up on the floor. As for being left inside all day, I don't think it's fair to think a dog could hold it all day if accidentally left indoors all day, they can hold it for a fair amount of time, say overnight, but if they are up and awake all day and eating and drinking they are going to need to go out at some point.
Not a dog can't tell you when it is going to vomit! At times you can tell if they start to heave but if not then there is no way to tell.

No you should never expect a dog to hold itself all day long!

Can you wait 8-12 hours to go to the bathroom???

Holding urine that long can be toxic to your body!!
You can tell, they will start to heave alot, or foam at the mouth a little. sometimes, you cant tell, it just happens
well some times the dog just can't help it for the whole entire day it really depends on the age of the dog and usually you can get enough notice to bring your dog outside before he vomits because of the choking noises in his or her throat.
Dogs can go to the door to vomit...IF their owners have taught them to do so. When they start making the ';hacking'; sounds that precede vomiting, we run our dogs to the door, trying to get them outdoors...they eventually pick up that we prefer them to do it outside. One of my dogs will even wake us up at night to go outside to vomit now (I shouldn't even talk about this...it's been so long since one of them threw up, I don't want to jinx it!)
Puke comes on quick, people can rarely do much about it when it comes up. How you expect your dog to notify you that he needs to puke?
