On the Ford Taurus 1998 where is the heater control valve located? What does it look like? Thank you?

The previous post is right on the money. Good advice. All I can add is to make sure the cooling system is not low. This time of year a low coolant situation may only show up as a lack of heat because without the coolant, the temp sensor cannot register accurately but will usually show too cool. Good luck!On the Ford Taurus 1998 where is the heater control valve located? What does it look like? Thank you?
That model does not use a heater control valve. There is coolant flowing through the heater core at all times on that vehicle. If you have no heat, check and see if the heater hoses are hot. If they are, then the blend door actuator has likely failed. It is an electric motor that positions the blend door according to the temp switch position, and are common to fail in that year car. It is on the front of the heater case, at the top left of the heater core access cover. The dash must come back about a foot to get to it on the passenger side.
