How long will it be until there is some form of population control?

I want to know if this is already happening and when will it happen here in the united states. Why would we be worried about population control in the future, will it be an urban area thing where citizens will be required to abide such a rule? i know its a weird question but i need more input on this. thanksHow long will it be until there is some form of population control?

I don't think that the US would need birth control as it is already an MEDC (More economically developed country, as apposed to a LEDC, less economically developed country IE Nigeria) with steady birth and death rates, if anything the DTM (Demographic Transistion Model) poits to a population decline as birth rates fall.
I have been told it is all ready in China. They have a limit on how many kids the couples can have. It's 1 child per, couples it just amatter of time till other nations follow.
