and what is the thing about a girls eggs being ready or something?

also what is the morning after pill?

all of this i need answered. How birth control pills does a girl need for it to take effect?
- No, it normally takes 7 days before she can have safe sex, depending on where in her cycle she takes them. - depends on the pill aswell.

- Normally you don't really want sex when shes on her period!

- Thats about ovulation - it doesnt really matter unless you want to get her pregnant, its just at certain times girls ae more fertile (likely to get pregnant)

- if you have unsafe sex it makes it less likely she will fall pregnant..

You dont sound old enough for sex %26gt;.%26lt;How birth control pills does a girl need for it to take effect?
Wow...you are in over your head. Planning on getting some soon or something?

1) Obviously

2) No, Any type of birth control pill works best when it is taken every single day at the same time of day, regardless of whether a girl is going to have sex. This is especially important with progesterone-only pills.

For the first 7 days of taking the Pill, the girl (and you) should use an additional form of contraception, such as condoms, to prevent pregnancy. After 7 days, the Pill should work alone to prevent pregnancy. But continuing to use condoms will protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

3) No, it is up to the girl and guy. Women can have sex whether she is on her period or not, most just prefer to have it when they are not on their period. Less messy (blood), and less discomfort. Unless you mean, ';Does the girl have to have gotten her period in order to have sex.'; meaning her first period. Then as a father with lots of guns, I would have to answer yes to that.

4) The morning-after pill 鈥?a form of emergency birth control 鈥?is used to prevent a woman from becoming pregnant after she has had unprotected vaginal intercourse. Plan B (brand name) is available to women 18 years and older without a prescription at most pharmacies. Women must show proof of age to purchase Plan B. For women 17 years old and younger, Plan B is available only with a doctor's prescription.
It's good you want to learn about this before having sex.

1) She needs a prescription, can't just buy them, and it takes at least 7 days of taking them every day to become effective. Pill leaflets say different things. They need to be taken every day regardless of when she has sex.

2) She can have sex whenever. Some girls don't want to have sex on their period, but others don't mind.

3) The way a woman's system works is she ovulates (releases an egg) once a month and the days around that are when she can get pregnant. Girls on birth control don't ovulate.

4) Morning after pill to be used for emergencies (e.g. condom breaking or birth control pills being missed), taken within 3 days of sex it works pretty well at preventing pregnancy but not perfectly.

Harriet
It's best to wait until the first months cycle of pills to be compleatly effective.

You can have sex whenever you want, but it can get messy

they only release and egg at a certain time of the month, but even if you do nothave sex on that day they can still get pregnant. Sperm stays in there up to 4-5 days

The morning after pills is an emergency controceptive. It's a large does of normal birth control pill horomones. It works by supressing ovulation, meaning the girl will not release and egg. It's not abortive, if the egg is released she will get pregnant. The morning after pill shoud be taken as soon as you can after unprotected sex but can be used up to 72 hours later, decreasing in effectiveness. It should not be used as a primary means of birth control.
Birth control takes up to 60 days to take effect. So in that period of time you must use another form of contraceptive.

Does a girl need to have had started having her period? Is that the question.. and the answer to it .. in my opinion is YES. If she doesn't have the hormones of reproduction then she is apparently way to young to be engaging in intercourse.

Girls eggs are ready as soon as they start their period. That means that she can become pregnant any time after her first period.

The Morning After pill is an abortion pill. It is not always a hundred percent accurate and it can, if used to frequently, cause major reproductive and possible cancer in the female.

Though I appreciate you asking these questions, however, you apparently are a bit young and have to really think about the choice that you are making at such a young age to become sexually active. There are soo many problems besides the mental ones to starting to be sexually active at a young age, why risk yours or the female's health for it?
Hi JON Y

A girl should wait at least 2 weeks for the pill to be functioning correctly, so other contraceptive devices are advisable until then

you can have sex with a girl if she has her period, it wont hurt anything, just might be a little messy

eggs being ready, just means ready for fertalisation she can get pregnant at this time, happens just before a period

the morning after pill (emergency contraception) is to be taken only when really needed, not to be taken as a regular contraceptive, it's most effective taken as quickly as possible after unprotected sex, up to 72 or so hours, she has to take 2 tables, within 12 hours of each other.
