Tried everything!?Please help, how long after flea control does it take to get rid of the fleas, working at this non-stop!?
Wow, flea control is a huge pain, I feel for you! Thing is, you have to treat everything at least twice. Flea killing products kill live fleas but after 14 days the eggs hatch. Those buggers are very difficult to kill the first time. I would treat the animals with a 30 day application (some that have been on the market for a while are losing effectiveness, I'd advise Advantix for dogs but ask your vet for cats.) Vacuum the carpets and furniture thoroughly first. Get some veterinarian grade flea dip and rent a carpet cleaner. Do the carpets with that and furniture if it has an attachment-otherwise spray furniture with flea spray, read the can so you don't damage the furniture. The dip is expensive but it works. Pitch pet beds or wash them in hot water. Wash all of your own bedding, rugs, loose cloth types of things in the house. The flea treatment on your animals should kill anything that jumps on in the next month or so. Get some diazanon (seven dust) at the hardware store, it's inexpensive thankfully, and treat your yard. Be sure to read the precautions on the bag to to be safe. In two weeks, do the carpets again to get anything that may have hatched. Really, flea bombs don't do much of anything other than endanger your breathing and your other pets. Hope that helps!
