Is it true that the Palestinians want full control over east Jerusalem?

and the old city including the western wall to be under Palestinian rule? What do they want the western wall for?

Just to let a few of you know that I am now blocking those that keep insulting me and my questions instead of answering them. I call those trolls who don't contribute to the community and I am now blocking trolls. Is it true that the Palestinians want full control over east Jerusalem?
Hi Malka D, I am not sure if the Palestinians want the western wall. I don't see any reason for such demand but I think they want full control over eastern Jerusalem because it belonged to them in the past and they have the right to get it back and control it as they want. This part of Jerusalem was occupied and it's time for it to get returned to its real owners.

PeaceIs it true that the Palestinians want full control over east Jerusalem?
I have to correct some people here that have said that East Jerusalem is legally a Palestinian City - that it is not and never has been. Going back to 1600 it was an Ottoman city until the British Mandate came into being at the end of World War I. Under the 1947 Partition plan East Jerusalem was suppose to be an independent city (actually this was to be Greater Jerusalem that was to include Bethlehem within this area) under international control. In 1948 Jordanian forces illegally occupied what was going to be the international area. From 1948-1967 Jordanian forces continued this occupation of the territory, but at no time was it made legally during this time a ';Palestinian City.'; After 1967 all of Greater Jerusalem came under the control of the Israelis and this is how it has continued to this day.

Palestinians may want full control over East Jerusalem, but this was never how the International Community or any of the countries that have ruled over this territory for the last 400 years (and I can go back further if necessary) have seen this city. The Holiest of places should not (like the Western Wall) fall under the control of Palestinian or Arabs solely because they have shown through past actions (from 1948-1967) to preclude Jews from visiting there holiest places. The Western Wall should remain under Jewish Authority as it has while the Temple Mount can - as it has - remain under Islamic Authority.

Good Luck!!!
East Jerusalem my dear is a Palestinian city where West Jerusalem is the Israeli city.
The Palestinians want the Old City to be under Thir control because under the 1949 armistice it was under Jordanian control, however, Jordan forbade Jews from visiting their holiest site, Israel would never, ever allow the Jewish quarter of the Old City to ever come under Palestinian control.

Jeruslaem should be. as was envisaged in the original partition plan, an international city.
The above two answers are correct , but wouldn't it be lovely if an international group , could monitor all of Jeruselum so that it could be free for christians, muslims and Jews? Maybe a dream, who would do that? In the end all need to fight over it, so to make it fair , chop it up. yours is yours , mine is mine, almost like children? Maybe. Cheers!
I heard about that. Yes it is true.
East Jeursalem is legally a Palestinian city Malka.

The entire world recognizes that

East jeursalem belongs to the Palestinian people and to a Palestinian state down the road.

Even the USA recognizes that fact.

Under international law it is a Palestinian city so why should the Palestinians not want what is theirs?

Keep in mind im not talking about all of Jeursalem im only talking about East Jerusalem.
I understand that under the current peace process, East Jerusalem will become the capital of Palestine.

I don't know if they want the Western Wall, but they are certainly entitled to at least a fair part of the old city.

And you are right, Malka...you should block those who insult you rather than give you an honest (if not entirely agreeable) answer. People have a right to differ. But insulting someone does nothing for anyone.
