Is it normal to have a longer period when starting birth control?

I just started taking birth control, I started last sunday which was the first day of my period and I'd been told to use a sunday start. I took my ninth pill today and I still have my period and I've never had it last that long. It's not heavy or anything but there's still bleeding and I'm wondering if it's normal for that to be happening and if I should bothering going to the doctor or not.

Thanks! Is it normal to have a longer period when starting birth control?
It's normal for your period to be crazy at first, but it'll even out after about a month (that doesn't mean you'll be on your period all month). But if it'd make you feel better, you can always call the doctor and ask him/her about it.Is it normal to have a longer period when starting birth control?
It will take your body a little time to adjust to the pill and regulate your period.
Call your doctor if it's a major concern but it's pretty normal for it to be that way in the beginning.
