do i have a virus if so how do i get rid of it what program do i use?On my start on my pc the control panel is missing i cant go to it anywere isw driving me crazy i searched for?
try going into My Documents, then on the panel on the left under Other Places, Control Panel should be there. If not check that no other programs are missing 'cause you could have a virus - it happened to me

also try Start %26gt; Run then type in control panel it should also work - I just did it!On my start on my pc the control panel is missing i cant go to it anywere isw driving me crazy i searched for?
try clicking the Start menu with right lick then properties and try the other profile if still no control panel , right click again and safely return to the prior profile, then try searching for it under start --%26gt; then click run--%26gt; then type ';control panel'; and click enter it should work .
To get to Control Panel for now, click Start and then Run and type control and then click OK.

Run a scan with your antivirus and also your spyware tools...if you don't have any, use the following:

Your Control Panel may just be turned off. Try this. Right click the Task bar and choose Properties and then click the Start Menu tab. Make sure that the ';Start Menu'; is checked. Now click ';Customize';.

In the Customize Start Menu dialog box click Advanced. Under Control Panel, be sure that ';Display as a Link'; is checked.

Close all windows and reboot.
right click the task bar at the bottom and go to properties

then on the start menu tab click customise then scoll down to control panel and click on the button to display as a link

then ok and apply.
try going to something else under settings on the start menu. for instance, click on printers and faxes. you should see control panel on the menu on the left. i am not sure what would cause that to disappear or how to get it back. sounds like a microsoft issue. good luck!
